About the 1815 collection

Perfect for sharing, picking, grazing and dipping, our 1815 collection embraces current trends in dining and entertaining. At the same time, classic colour washes and design details reference Royal Doulton’s rich artistic heritage. The result is an effortless combination of old and new, and a versatile, laid-back collection you’ll enjoy using for years to come.

Staying in is the new going out. Reflecting the growing trend for relaxed, at-home socialising with friends, we’ve created a wide range of tableware in a wonderful palette of muted and bolder shades.

Tapping into our love of sharing and discovering more cosmopolitan food, the collection features multi-coloured sets of bowls, trays, tapas dishes and serving tools.

Commemorating Royal Doulton’s founding year, the 1815 range draws inspiration from the brand’s iconic design roots. The result is a colourful, vibrant collection with an artisan feel, emulating the highly skilled craft techniques used in the original Royal Doulton factory in Lambeth, London.
Subtle, understated details include a distinctive embossed 1815 mark on each piece in the collection, while the colourful half-dipped glazes give a handcrafted look.

The video below shows how prototypes were created during the design process. These prototypes were then used to produce production moulds which resulted in the final 1815 collection.
